In the case of hair based testing, passing a drug test after using recreational narcotics is impossible unless you shave off all of the hair on your body. While some people attempt to shave their heads, this is not effective as all of the hair you produce will show your drugs use history. As the history spans for a time frame of six months, this can have devastating consequences for those being tested. Due to the nature of hair growth, the remnants of the narcotics are never fully purged.
